Fake reviews have plagued honest business owners for years.
A restaurant owner fires a staff member, then receives 100s of 1-star Yelp reviews. A shady manufacturer uses bots to pump artificial demand for their product.
While some platforms have built-in verification tied to customer payment records, not everyone who sells online is lucky enough to have this infrastructure.
For these folks (us included), we're happy to introduce customer auto-detection.
How does this help?
By default, visitors to a GetReviews survey (example) can provide whatever information they'd like about their purchase and themselves.
From what they bought, to where they bought it, and who they are, every piece of information is collected progressively throughout the survey wizard.
While this works for many use cases, it's possible you'd prefer to a) limit a customer's review options and b) save them the time of filling out personal information.
How it Works
- When orders are uploaded via CSV (sample format) or API, GetReviews assigns a unique code to each one.
- Appending this code to a GetReviews survey URL pre-populates the customer's purchase and personal details.
- With pre-populated surveys, customers have an easier review experience. This increases review conversions as well as eliminates the possibility of fake reviews.
Example survey without auto-detection:
https://demo.getreviews.ai
Example survey with* auto-detection:
https://app.getreviews.ai/survey/redirect/a65cbc
*this example uses customer "John Doe, [email protected]" and product "Energize" as the pre-populated values, which you'll see near the end of the wizard if you click through.
Get Started
There are 3 ways to immediately start using customer auto-detection on your GetReviews account.
Option 1: No-code, via GetReviews Outbound
This method is our suggested strategy because it's the fastest + easiest to set up. Ready for it?
Simply create an Outbound Email Campaign inside your GetReviews dashboard. You're done!
We'll send unique pre-filled survey links to your customers automatically, with interactive review forms directly inside the email.
Option 2: No-code, with your own email tool
After uploading orders inside the Upload Center, download the "Enriched" version after it finishes processing.
This spreadsheet will include a "code" column for every customer. Append this code like so:
https:/app.getreviews.ai/survey/redirect/code-here
... to create pre-populated surveys on a per-customer basis.
You may now send these unique links to your customers via whatever email marketing tool you prefer, inserting the links as { { merge } } variables.
If you don't have an email newsletter tool, but you do have a Gmail or G Suite inbox, Gmass and YAMM are both easy alternatives to personalize email messages at scale.
Option 3: Coding required, with our API
Import customer details via the Orders API. The response object will contain a "survey_url" link with the code embedded.
You may then provide this link within customer emails or even directly inside your own web application, tied to each customer's profile.
Is Auto-Detection The Future?
We've all seen it -- somebody writes a fake review that hurts a business for no reason other than to be cruel.
Some review platforms fight against this by placing onerous requirements on honest customers to prove their identity, jumping through hoops like LinkedIn verification or even registering new accounts online.
At GetReviews, we think technology can handle this verification layer while also providing customers a frictionless way to share feedback.
